I am so sorry that I have completely fallen off the face of the earth for this month! I got so wrapped up with work, helping coach my brother's baseball team, and getting back into wedding planning mode pretty much full time again. But the good news of that is that I finally booked my honeymoon lol. We are going to spend 6 days, 5 nights in NYC!!! Neither of us have ever been before and we wanted to take a non-traditional honeymoon instead of going and being lazy at a beach (plus just thinking of the SHOPPING TRIP)!
But anyways... enough about me, let's get down to some BEAUTY!!!
So I have collected many awesome products over this month, and I am going to share with you guys just a couple favorites that I highly recommend :)
1. Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Shampoo, Conditioner and Shine Mask (Do not have the Argan Styling Oil pictured):
I mentioned these products in my last drugstore haul from march (which unfortunately was also my last post, wahhh!!!), and I have had nothing but success and rave reviews about these products ever since. My hair was so dry and unmanageable towards the end of winter, and I knew I wasn't going to be able to get into the salon until the end of April, so I decided to give these products a whirl. I am in love with the amazing rich scent of these products every time I apply them, as well as how they make my hair feel so moisturized and nourished. I use the shine mask maybe twice a week for an extra moisture boost, but will probably cut back to once a week come summer time. Once I get out of the shower, I notice how much this product improves snarls and knots when using a wide tooth comb to comb out my hair. And what I love most about these products... THE COST!!!! I got all of these products for $3.99 each!!! That's a fraction of the cost compared to Moroccan Oil you find at salons. Does that mean I will never try it's expensive counterpart... No I probably will, but it's nice to know that I have results I love with these bargain items as well ;)
2. Benefit Watt's Up Cream-To-Powder Highlighter:
So, because my birthday was last month, I got my hands on the Sephora Birthday gift for this year,
which included a sample sizes of "They're Real Mascara" and "Watt's Up" Cream-To-Powder Highlighter. Before this little wonder, I was using the E.L.F. tone correcting powder as a highlighter because of my dislike of very shimmery highlighters. While this product does have shimmer to it, it is very subtle and blends beautifully. And thanks to the Stila makeup girl that was at Sephora a few weeks ago, I learned the proper way to apply highlighters to the face (starting above the brow and sweeping it down the side of the face to the cheek). I will definitely be purchasing the full size product once I run out of the sample, although it's a bit of a steep price... $30 :( I also want to maybe try out the limited addition kit for 500 VIB points that has a pink champagne highlighter in it to see which one I like better.
3. Clinique True Bronzer in "Sunkissed:"
I went to Macy's to get the "Super City Block Daily Face Protector" lotion (Mary Kay changed their formula for their day cream, yuck!!!!) and the Chubby Stick Intense in "Heftiest Hibiscus," which earned me the gift with purchase :) I picked the pink gift, and I got the cutest spring makeup bag with TONS of free goodies (even full sized products)! One of those products was a compact containing two eye shadows (Pink & Slate) as well as a powder blush (new clover), and a powder bronzer (sunkissed). I am IN LOVE with the bronzer!!!! I have been using it in my makeup routine now for contouring my face. It goes on so nicely and is highly pigmented with great staying power throughout the day. It's also a matte formula, which is great for contouring. Overall, this is a great product that I got for free, not to mention that I also like the eye shadows (haven't tried the blush yet).
4. Benefit" CORAlista" Powder Blush:
I have been eying up this blush for awhile now, and finally pulled the trigger recently with the 20% off at Ulta coupon I had. This blush definitely lives up to its name with the coral color; Absolutely beautiful for spring/summertime. It comes in the cutest decorated box (Benefit never lets me down with their attractive packaging), with a mini blush brush and the product on the inside. I have not used the little brush, but I'm sure it would be a great asset to have when traveling instead of lugging around your big blush brush with you in your purse... but you wouldn't need to anyways because this blush last so long!!!! I apply this in the morning before I leave for work, and I still have coraly cheeks at the end of the day. This product also works in tandem wonderfully with the two other products I mentioned above (Watt's Up, and Clinique Sunkissed Bronzer). This product normally sells for $28 and you can find at Ulta or Sephora.
5. Lush Sea Spray Hair Mist:
This product is a MIRACLE WORKER for those of you who are looking to achieve those desirable beachy waves. I have tried many different products in the past to try and achieve beach waves (mainly including tons of mousse/hairspray or gel... yuck). I apply the sea spray when my hair has naturally dried most of the way after a shower, and voila, beachy waves without tons of hairspray to hold it! This product has a very strong scent to it as soon as you apply it, so people with sensitive noses may not like it (aka finace), but I love the scent of this product (has ingredients like grapefruit oil, sea water, and rosewood oil). It also has great hold, and as I mentioned before, you don't need to add tons of hairspray to keep the waves from falling out of your hair. I purchased this product from my local Lush store at my mall, but you can also find it on their website lush.com. This product retails for $12.95 for a 3.3 fl oz bottle (which normally is a little steep for me, but I am seriously obsessed with the results).
And believe me... this is just a glimpse of the purchases I have made lately (my bank account hates me right now). These products were some of my favorites, and I thought this post would be a great way to get back into the swing of blogging again. I will hopefully not go MIA again for such a long period of time, but unfortunately life just seems to happen sometimes...
