I was reading through some blogs the other day and I stumbled upon Cheyenne Gibbs's blog "For All The Curvy Lovers," who had a pretty awesome post about some of the things that she lusts for in her life. I love how her post focused around a board of pictures and words that she created to show her readers' what she holds important in her life (whether that be products she wants or just concepts and morals to live by). Her post really inspired me to create my own lust list, and visualize goals and things that I lust after in hopes that I will be achieving them very soon. So without further a do, here is my lust board of what I am keeping in the fore-front of my mind.
Fitness- I want to come to a place in my life where I have a steady and consistent fitness routine. Right now every week is a different, hectic schedule and it would be nice just to be able to come home, work out, and go about a nightly routine... I'm hoping married life will bring that together.
L'Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in "Fairest Nude"- This is by far the next lipstick I want SO BAD!!! It looks absolutely gorgeous, and I was in love as soon as I saw SequinDoll's review on it. I think the only thing that has held me back so far is that I have so many lipsticks right now and it is hard to justify another one. But I'm sure that reservation wont hold for long.
Health- Through watching a lot of family members get sick or struggle with health problems lately, I really have a renewed interest in trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I wanna be able to make healthier life choices when it comes to food, exercise, etc that I struggle with now. It is tough sometimes to mentally train yourself to choose cooking you own healthy meals instead of going out to eat, and it is also just as mentally tough to get your butt off that couch after a long day at work. I want to provide positive habits for my family someday, and that starts with me having the mental discipline to achieve it myself first.
Kate Spade Purse- Due to a co-worker always having the most adorable Kate Spade bags EVER, I currently want to own one myself. I love the way her purses have very simple designs, that are very chic and colorful to boot. This is definitely a lust that I will have to save for, and moreover find a great sale before I would buy one, because of how pricey it is :(
Love- I will take a page out of Cheyenne's lust list in that love is everything in life, and it is what gets us through this thing we call life. Love is very important to me right now in my life, because I am making one of the most important and sacred life decisions in marrying the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. I don't want to be one of those people that has the carefree attitude of "hey if it doesn't work out, there is always divorce!" Love is never a straight line, it dips and curves and sometimes plummets, but love also takes a lot of work to be truly happy.
Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara- This would be my ultimate splurge, dream mascara to try out sometime. I always hear such amazing reviews about this mascara... I'm just a little skeptical on the price tag on it. Like I said, this would be an ultimate splurge item, but it is definitely a product that I lust after.
Remodeled Bathroom- One of the big tasks that I want to accomplish after we get married is to re-do our bathroom. It is so out-of-date and ugly that sometimes I just can't stand it... It is better though to have pictures and ideas that I want to motivate me rather than just complain and drive my fiance insane. My dream bathroom would be a black and white bathroom with maybe some colorful accents.
Positivity- This is another lust that I am adopting from "All The Curvy Lovers." I am oftentimes finding myself surrounded by negativity on a daily basis, whether that be in my career or with my friends and acquaintances. It's tough to be around negative people and situations all the time, because it slowly but surely turns you negative, miserable, and sour with life. I strive to not be like this, despite how (like any normal human being) I can only see the negative sometimes. I must just force myself to keep being positive no matter what negative things are happening around me.
Remodeled Kitchen- I NEED A NEW KITCHEN!!! This is another remodeling project that we are anticipating so much after we get married. Our kitchen is so out-of-date that I can't even fit a full cookie sheet pan into my tiny easy-bake sized crappy oven we have now. I also barely have any counter space due to the unnecessary cabinets that over hang a majority of the space, making it nearly impossible prepare any meals... Very frustrating, but it is something that I look forward to doing hopefully in the VERY near future.
Success- Success is such an interesting thing to lust after, because everyone wants to be successful at different things in life. I lust for becoming a successful designer that can eventually work for myself as a freelancer, rather than be tied down in corporate America. I lust for a successful marriage and friendship with my partner, a marriage that will allow us to grow old together. I lust after becoming a successful parent someday. Children are something that I really want, but I can maturely say I am absolutely not ready for yet. But when that day comes, I hope that I can be a great parent to them like my parents were to me, and how my fiance's parents were to him.
I was so happy to stumble on the blog "For All The Curvy Lovers!" She really inspired me to think about what I lust after and to make my own board of my goals and aspirations. It is always a good and healthy thing to take a step back and record what you want out of life, and to create visuals to work towards. I encourage everyone, even if you don't blog, to keep a journal or bulletin board of your goals and dreams and to always lust after them. Life isn't worth living if we aren't motivated to achieve our goals and dreams...
